Columbia, SC Child Photographer: Easter Portraits!

It's almost Easter time! That means it's time for super cute Easter Bunny pictures!! Only this time without the 6 foot tall guy in a bunny suit that is slightly terrifying to your little ones.....this year I have 2 baby bunnies that are PERFECT for the kiddies! I'll be headed over to Seven Oaks Park this Saturday for a few Easter sessions, and I'm sooo excited to see how creative we can get with THESE little guys....(Here is the picture their owner sent me.)

Columbia SC Portrait Photographer- Church Portraits

So on Sunday I had the privilege to take Trinity Presbyterian's Spring Portraits! The members were great, soo friendly and helpful. The week before, everything was going smoothly with planning except for one thing....the weather. Here is the deal with my photography and the weather. We have issues.... I have had ONE sunny day in the history of my portrait sessions....ONE.... Since it was multiple sessions and would be tough to reschedule, I was checking the forecast all week....it looked like this... (directly off my Iphone)

Does this seem fair? NO....Thank you Weather Gods, for a little added stress last week... LUCKILY the weather held out perfectly, it started raining about 15 minutes after the last shot was taken....

Other than the typical church directory, I don't think that it is something they've ever done before, so I only had a small group of members sign up. It was nice to see the surprise of the families that they were getting more than a quick snapshot for their money! I had a great time shooting each group and I can't wait to work with them in the future! Here are a few of my favorites from the day...

1st Post on the New Blog!

I FINALLY have a new blog, and one that lets me post better pictures! Good idea, right? Since I was taught, "every photographer must have a blog," I figured the whole picture aspect of it is pretty important..... As for the writing part....I'm not a professional by any means so bare with me..

So I have been more busy in the last few weeks than I ever could have imagined. Starting a business is an amazing experience.....yet exhausting! What have I been doing? Deep breath.....
*Taking business classes
*Building websites (and blogs)
*Setting up merchant accounts
*Buying as much equipment as my wallet will let me
*Researching different products & finding the best prof. labs to produce them
*Opening up my business bank account
*Applying for tax IDs and Ein's
*Booking shoots
*Planning, planning, planning for each shoot that is booked
*Marketing! AKA getting the word out for group shoots...examples: Hamilton, Easter weekend. (more about that one later.)
*And....Oh yeah! My other full time job...so everything else is just evenings and weekends.

Good thing that I'm loving every second of it :)
